{"id":113,"date":"2013-09-13T03:06:22","date_gmt":"2013-09-13T03:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/?page_id=113"},"modified":"2013-09-24T01:19:23","modified_gmt":"2013-09-24T01:19:23","slug":"about-the-artist-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/?page_id=113","title":{"rendered":"About the Artist"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"span4\">\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-131\" alt=\"mom-about-page\" src=\"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/mom-about-page-251x300.png\" width=\"251\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/mom-about-page-251x300.png 251w, http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/mom-about-page.png 504w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"span8\">\n\n<p>I started creating when I was very young.<\/p>\n<p>When I was in grade school I remember using laurel leaves and dandelions to make corsages to sell along the road we lived on.\u00a0 In fifth grade I started using dried acorn pods covered with glitter to make corsages.\u00a0 I think I got a quarter for two!<\/p>\n<p>In high school I would spend hours on extra credit projects\u2026..painting, paper Mache, ink drawings, plaster of Paris\u2026..anything to avoid just studying the subject.\u00a0 I got really good at extra credit.\u00a0 Mom said I could have had straight A\u2019s if I had spent half as much effort on the subject!<\/p>\n<p>I took and taught classes at Oregon State University: Recreational use of Arts and Crafts, Weaving\u2026.some detractors called the classes \u201cUnderwater basket weaving\u201d\u2026.easy A\u2019s.\u00a0 I called them enriching.<\/p>\n<p>Later, when my children were little, I began making and selling macram\u00e9 plant hangers and woven wall hangings.\u00a0 The first hanger I ever sold was for $7.00 and I was hooked!<\/p>\n<p>I started felting about 10 years ago, but have been using techniques that I have acquired over the last 35 years.<\/p>\n<p>There is nothing more satisfying or rewarding than making something with your own hands and having someone else really appreciate your work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sig\" src=\"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sig.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"83\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"page-fullwidth.php","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-113","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/113","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=113"}],"version-history":[{"count":8,"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/113\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":190,"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/113\/revisions\/190"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/signaturefiberart.com\/wp\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=113"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
